- Bid – A price proposal based on design documents and specifications.
- Request for Information (RFI) – An RFI is used to gather information to help decide on next steps.
- Purchase Order (PO) – A PO is an official offer issued by a buyer to a seller. The PO indicates types, quantities, and agreed prices for products or services.
- Punch List – A punch list is a document that lists items that are not completed to the client’s specifications by the end of a project.
- Field Work Order – This work order is given by the general contractor to a subcontractor to complete work that may be out of scope.
- Lien – Contractors file a lien, which is a claim on a property, when they have not been paid for work.
- Job Costing – Job costing is an accounting method for tracking expenses to a project.
- Subcontract – This is an agreement between the general contractor and another contractor to perform a certain set of construction services.
